Attendee app

A branded event app
without the App Store queue.

Attendees scan a QR at the venue and the app installs from Safari or Chrome in one tap. Your logo on the home screen, your colours everywhere, agenda cached for offline use. Ready in a day, not the six weeks Hubilo needs.

From QR scan to home-screen icon in four taps.

No app store, no downloads over hotel wifi, no waiting for Apple review. Attendees leave the check-in desk with the app already installed.

1
Scan QR at venue
Registration email has the install link. Standees at the door have the QR. Both open the branded hub in Safari or Chrome.
2
PWA installs
The browser prompts Add to Home Screen. One tap. Your event icon lands on the home screen next to WhatsApp.
3
Works offline
Service worker caches agenda, speakers and the QR pass. Attendees see their schedule even when venue wifi drops.
4
Push reminders
Session starts in 10 minutes, attendee gets a push. Sponsor announcement drops, everyone with the app installed sees it.

What Bizzabo charges lakhs for, delivered by Safari.

Native apps cost six weeks of dev, an Apple review cycle, and 30% of revenue if you sell tickets. A PWA gives attendees the same experience, deployable the day you sign.

๐Ÿ“ฒ
Installable in one tap
Manifest.json served per attendee with tenant branding. Icon, splash screen and theme colour match your event.
๐ŸŽ
iOS-friendly
Safari Add to Home Screen supported since iOS 11.3. We test on iPhone 12 through 16 before every release.
๐Ÿšซ
No App Store
Zero submission, zero review time, zero 30% Apple tax on any in-app upsell like session upgrades.
๐Ÿ“ด
Offline schedule
Service worker caches the agenda JSON and speaker photos. Basement conference halls with no signal still work.
๐ŸŽจ
Dynamic manifest
Each tenant gets its own manifest.json with logo, name and brand colour. Multiple events, multiple icons on one phone.
๐Ÿ””
Push reminders
Session-start alerts and organiser broadcasts. Web Push on Android and desktop, in-app banners as iOS fallback.
๐ŸŽŸ
QR pass built in
The pass tile shows the check-in QR without switching apps. Bright screen mode kicks in automatically for scan.
๐Ÿค
Networking tile
AI matches based on interests appear inside the app. Attendees see suggested meetings without leaving the hub.
โšก
One-day setup
No provisioning profiles, no Apple developer account. The hub is live the moment the event goes live.

The six-week app build we refused to sell.

Every conference client asks for "a mobile app". Then they see the Hubilo quote. Then they see the six-week timeline. Then they ask if there's another way. There is.

The honest truth is that most attendees at an Indian conference will not install a native app. They're in the parking lot at 9.15am, they're already late, they're not going to hit App Store and wait for a 40MB download over 4G. We tried that path once with a Chennai fintech summit. 40% install rate. The other 60% used the paper program.

So we went the PWA route. Scan a QR at the venue, one tap on "Add to Home Screen", done. Your logo sits on their home screen next to WhatsApp. The agenda works offline because we cache it aggressively. Push notifications work on Android natively and on iOS 16.4+ (which is most of the room).

What we lost by not going native: nothing users noticed. What we gained: an app that ships in a day, not a quarter.

A 1,200-attendee summit, from install to check-out.

  1. 3 weeks out. Client picks colours, uploads logo, sets the event name. We generate a QR poster: "Scan to install our app". 90 seconds of admin work.
  2. 1 week out. Registration confirmation email has an "Install app" button. About 22% install before arrival, based on our last three events.
  3. Day of, entrance. Big printed QR poster at the door. Ushers point at it. Median install time from our logs: 11 seconds. 78% of walk-ins install within the first hour.
  4. During sessions. Push notification 5 minutes before each session begins: "Track B, Hall 2, starting in 5 min". Attendee taps, agenda opens to that session, room number and speaker photo right there.
  5. Networking break. "Meet Priya Nair, suggested match" push. One tap opens the 1:1 booking screen.
  6. After. Feedback prompt at 8pm same day. Response rate in-app runs about 3x higher than email. We measured that on 7 events, consistent every time.

Total client build time on our side? Under 2 hours from brief to live QR. Total client build time with a native app studio? Six to ten weeks and a lakh-plus invoice.

Native app studios vs the PWA route.

Vendor prices vary by region and negotiated discount. Native studio work often adds four to eight lakh on top.

Modules that ride inside the app.

๐Ÿ“…
The agenda lives inside the app, cached offline. Push notifications fire five minutes before each session an attendee has saved to "My Schedule".
๐Ÿค
Meeting suggestions and booking happen inside the same PWA. No second install, no second login, no second brand fighting for home-screen space.
๐Ÿ“Š
Attendees vote and ask questions from inside the app, not a second tab. Response rates roughly double when the poll is one tap from home screen.

Questions we get

Is it a native app?
It is a Progressive Web App. Installs from Safari or Chrome in one tap, sits on the home screen with your icon, runs offline. No App Store or Play Store required.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Safari has supported Add to Home Screen since iOS 11.3. Your event icon appears next to native apps.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Service worker caches the agenda, speaker profiles and QR pass. Venues with weak wifi still get a working schedule.
How does branding work?
Every tenant gets a dynamic manifest.json with their logo, colour and event name. Two events on the same phone show two different icons.
